Dept of Agriculture Lab

Installation Summer of 2026

Reynoldsburg, Ohio

The artwork commission concept focuses on the lab perspective of the Department of Agriculture Lab Animal disease facility. The large hexagon shapes feature common agricultural related animals all completed in mosaic glass. The medium hexagon shapes feature common agricultural related disease all completed in mosaic glass.

The hexagon has become ubiquitous with chemistry and biology and will be an easy shape for the public, as well as clients, to relate to the scientific significance of the lab.

The microscopic visuals of common agricultural related diseases make for stunning, abstract visuals, especially in glass. The base visuals of the mosaic disease hexagons will be flush with the wall, ranging in size from 2 to 5 ft. The colored hexagons will be mounted off the wall to create a 3D aspect to those smaller pieces.

In addition to creating the iconic chemistry visual, the connection points also relate to how the work of the lab, and the Ohio Department of Agriculture, is one piece of the process to bring safe and reliable food to our homes.
